Evaluate MBA students’ communication skills with a diagnostic test to support academic and career success.

About AscendMBA

AscendMBA is EnglishCoach’s flagship Business English diagnostic test for educational institutions, MBA schools, and organisations looking to hire MBA graduates.

It is designed to assess how prepared learners are to communicate effectively in professional and management-oriented settings, using tasks that reflect the language demands of business education and early-career corporate roles.

The assessment is benchmarked to the CEFR and is built to provide a practical view of communication readiness rather than a generic measure of English ability alone. It evaluates listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar in use, and spoken fluency in business contexts, giving institutions a clearer foundation for learning support, placement decisions, and communication development planning.

IFMR Case Study

IFMR Global School of Business, Krea University

IFMR GSB wanted a reliable, CEFR-aligned baseline of Business English for its incoming MBA cohort so that language support could be targeted early in the academic year. The assessment was administered to incoming MBA students in July 2025 and included a written diagnostic covering Listening, Reading, and Business English, along with a Speaking evaluation using CEFR-benchmarked prompts. The rollout was designed for a large cohort and included scheduled online slots, clear pre-assessment instructions, CEFR grades, and detailed breakdowns.
